Dear St.
Stephen the Martyr School Volunteer,
We want to thank you
for volunteering at St. Stephen the Martyr School. We greatly appreciate
you volunteering to work in the school.
This year the
Archdiocese of Omaha has implemented the Charter for the Protection of
Children and Young People, also called Safe Environments Training.
All parish volunteers that work with, or have access to, our students
(school, religious education, coaches, etc.) must comply with these new
policies.
1.
Archdiocese of Omaha Screening Form for Volunteers.
2.
Respecting All God’s People Archdiocese of Omaha Safe Environment
Pre-Registration Form.
3.
Policy of the Catholic Archdiocese of Omaha Relating to Sexual
Misconduct.
4.
Archdiocese of Omaha Code of Conduct.
All volunteers that
work with, or around, our students will need to have a background check done
and they need to undergo the Safe Environment training.
We ask that you submit
the Screening form (granting permission for the background check) and the
Respecting All God’s People pre-registration form (marking the training
session you wish to attend) to the school office.
I am sure you will find
the training educational and informative. These new Archdiocesan policies
are in place to enhance the safety of our young people.
If you have any
questions please feel free to notify us. Further information is available
at the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops website: (http://www.usccb.org/ocyp/)
concerning the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People and
these new policies.
Sincerely Yours in
Christ,
David J. Peters,
