Parent Handbook
2009-10
Welcome
to St. Stephen's Religious Education!
New
students are always welcome!
St. Stephen’s offers religious education for children 3 years old through high
school. We also have classes for students with special needs.
Registration forms are available on
the Registration Information
link.
Please do
not let finances stand in the way of giving your children a religious education!
Tuition
assistance is available. We do not turn anyone away due to financial need.
Tuition assistance forms are available on the Registration page, or call the
R.E. Office at 896-5683 and let us help get your children started.
Parents are encouraged to be involved
as much as possible in the R.E. program!
You are welcome to visit your child’s class
at any time, and to join us for Mass,

Reconciliation and any activities or
speakers that we offer throughout the year.
Religious Education information is
available through the Family Connection, bulletin and on our website at
www.stephen.org/reled. Please
sign in at the R.E. Office when you arrive to visit your child's classroom.
As parents, you are the first and primary catechists of your children. Our
mission in Religious Education is to support you in building a foundation of
faith in which not only the children, but also the entire family, will grow in
their knowledge of God and the Roman Catholic faith. Please use us as a
resource for your family’s faith formation needs.
Catholics Come Home
Have you or someone you
know been away from the Catholic Church? Catholics Come Home can help Catholics who have left the Church find their way
back home, answer questions for those who are seeking to know God better and
welcome those who are interested in becoming Catholic to the Church. Please
visit Catholics Come Home
or contact Deacon Denny Dethlefs at 896-9675.
'Together We Light the Way to Jesus’
This year we
celebrated the fact that 2,300+ children (from 1,400 different families!) are
formed in our Catholic faith each week at St. Stephen’s!! 'Children of the Light’ reminds us that the responsibility
to raise our children to ‘walk always as a child of the light’ was entrusted to
both parents and the entire faith community at Baptism. For more information,
please read the handout 'Children of the Light'.
Circle of Grace is the Safe
Environment training for youth that was mandated by the U.S.C.C.B.'s "Charter
for the Protection of Children and Young People." Each year, we will present
Circle of Grace lessons to students in Kindergarten through High School.
Circle of
Grace Parent Information Packet
