New Sunday Evening Bible Study


This year will be focused on the “Lambs Supper” in the Book of Revelation.This bible study is a satellite class of the Seeking Truth Catholic Bible Study, by Sharon and Steve Doran of Omaha, NE.  .  The class is a combination of viewing Sharon’s powerful DVD lectures related to each study guide chapter while tying Scripture, the Catholic Church Catechism and the “Come and See Study Guide” overview and questions in men’s group participation.  The class is hosted by Buz Fleissner and John Lewandowski. The Great Adventure: Bible Timeline, the Story of Salvation


Beginning Sept.. 19th in the GPC at 6:30 pm, we will be offering the Great Adventure-the Bible Timeline, a 10 part series taught by Jeff Cavins. The Bible Timeline is the first class of The Great Adventure Foundational Series . This study moves from telling the story to making it personal. While the historical books of the Bible recount God’s creative and redemptive acts in history, The Bible Timeline: the Story of Salvation has helped hundreds of thousands of people just like you learn how to read and undserstan the Bible from a Catholic perspective  For this reason, it is an ideal starting point for the study of Sacred Scripture.   Registration is required to ensure adequate resources and the cost of the workbook is $25. Lectio Divina Prayer Group


This prayer group will meet in the Daily Mass Chapel every 1st Wednesday of the month from 9:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Babysitting available.

The group will also offer additional days of prayer and fellowship as, together, we will visit some of our beautiful Catholic Churches in Omaha and surroundings. The cost of the books is $15. Contact Deacon Marty, 402-861-4506 or M.Warwick@stephen.org to register.

Bible Study -The Letter of James, a Bible study with commentary by Dr. Scott Hahn and Mark Shea.


The Letter of James is offered on Thursday which will begin on Sept. 8 at 9:30 am, with childcare, and 6:30 pm . The cost of materials is $25. The Letter of James is a 12 week study. This is a little shorter than what we have been offering in the past. This will allow us to add a short course between the Christmas holidays and Easter, most likely Apologetics. The author of James is considered to James, the “brother of the Lord.” The The Letter of James begins as a letter  but has elements of a homily exhorting Jewish Christians to live a moral life based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. Bible Study – Breaking Open the Word


This Bible Study will discuss the Weekend Mass readings as they are presented in the Lectionary. This year is Church Liturgical Year C for the first 3 months so we will continue study/discuss the Gospel of Luke.. We meet in the GPC at 9:30 AM Fridays in the Board Room. Iron Sharpens Iron Fall Session


New participants are welcome

Iron Sharpens Iron (Proverbs 27:17) is a new program that helps men realize our potential as authentic Christian Catholic men and replaces TMIY. This program is for men of all ages and is a new series entitled “Catholicism” by Aux. Bishop Robert Barron. God continues to make it more and more clear that one of the missions of St. Stephen the Martyr Parish is to really help men to live out their spiritual lives in more practical ways.    This new program will be tailored to help the men very practically live out their faith.  It will help them form a plan for living their spirituality.  This program will begin on Friday Sept. 16th. The doors open at 5:00am, coffee will be available and the program will start promptly at 5:45 The program will conclude at 6:45 to allow participants ample time to get to work. Introduction to Current Economic & Moral Philosophy. (Social Justice )
