This prayer form originated in Taizé, France where hundreds of thousands of adults, young and old, gather annually to pray and seek to be instruments for peace, reconciliation and hope in our world.

Meditative Taizé Prayer occurs in semi-darkness and candle light and is focused and centered on the cross. There is generous silence and several beautiful meditative songs with simple repetitive lyrics. There is Scripture and there are Intercessions, all in a very welcoming, calm, peaceful and non-threatening environment. You are invited to remove shoes if you wish and anyone, particularly our children and youth, may recline around the sanctuary. Cushions may be brought for this purpose.

2008 / 2009 Season

Taizé Prayer will be offered on the last Tuesday of every other month. Since this prayer service is done in candlelight, the times will vary through the seasons due to changing sunsets and also daylight saving. The dates and times are as follows:-
