St. Stephen the Martyr offers a year- round process
that invites interested individuals to begin inquiry into the Catholic Church
at any time of the year. To better meet the needs of the people we have two
processes for inquiry of the Catholic Church. An initial interview with
a Ministry leader will help discern whether our abbreviated process (Ministry
to the Baptized) or the fuller catechumenal (RCIA) process is
appropriate.
Ministry to the Baptized
We recognize that not all who seek to become members of our Catholic tradition
require full participation in our Catechumenate (RCIA) process. Therefore, we
have a process available to those who have already been baptized in a
Christian Church and have had a significant level of involvement in the
church, as well as religious instruction and spiritual formation.
Catechumenate (RCIA)
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the
process through which unbaptized adults are initiated into the Catholic
Church. In addition, baptized adults who have not had significant involvement
in the church or in religious and spiritual formation share a similar journey
in the RCIA process as they prepare for full initiation or to be received into
full communion.
